Outdoor redesign

Outdoor rooms have a hard edge: a railing, a wall, or a slab. DecorAd should not place a six-seat dining set on a balcony that only takes two chairs. Shade and circulation matter more than a magazine lounge.
What we look for in the photo
The full floor plate and the railing or garden edge. Include doors back into the house so furniture does not block them. If there is a built-in bench or BBQ, keep it in frame.
Typical mistakes we try to avoid
Indoor sofas used as outdoor, rugs that would soak, dining tables with no chair pull-out, and planters that block the only walkway. Gulf and Indian contemporary can read warmer here; Minimal keeps a balcony honest.
How to start
Shoot standing at the door looking out. Choose Outdoor and a style. Check real wind and sun before you buy textiles the image suggests.
Other rooms
- Living room — Seating, rugs, and paths planned around how people actually sit and walk.
- Bedroom — Beds and storage that leave clear paths to doors, windows, and wardrobes.
- Kitchen — Work zones and finishes that do not block appliances or the cook’s path.
